Backstreet Shadow Earns Millionaire Status
THANK YOU
to everyone who inspected, bid on and purchased
a
Talbot Creek Farm
yearling this fall.
We wish you all the best in 2023.
We would like to extend hearty congratulations to our homebred Backstreet Shadow and his connections on his milestone accomplishment on July 17. With his close second place finish in the William Haughton Memorial at The Meadowlands, Backstreet Shadow is the latest pacer to achieve millionaire status.
A now six-year-old by Shadow Play, Backstreet Shadow has been a consistently solid performer throughout his career. As a three-year-old he won seven of 14 starts for $216,465 earned. The following year he won 10 of 22 for $248,200. Last year at five was his most successful season to date with $433,016 banked from 21 starts.
So far this season he’s faced the gate 11 times with four wins and three seconds recorded for $161,547. His best time is 1:47.3 earned at four and tied again this year.
Ron Burke trains and co-owns Backstreet Shadow with Weaver Bruscemi, Larry Karr and J&T Silva-Purnel & Libby. He is the third foal from Backstreet Sweetie whose immediate family boasts several other millionaires including Jennas Beach Boy and Atochia.
Talbot Creek sold Backstreet Shadow at the Forest City Sale for $82,000. He has proven a solid investment.
